Education Changes Lives
The Tanop Community Education Centre (TCEC) has been offering education and changed life opportunities to rural Cambodian children since 2006. Surrounded by rice fields and a vibrant village life, our two village campuses sing with eager learning, sharing and changed futures.
Our Story
In 2006, a chance meeting between an Australian mother, her daughter, and a Cambodian village man became a catalyst for years of transforming lives, empowering countless children in a remote Cambodian village to break free from the constraints of their circumstances, changing lives.
Our Team
Our dedicated Cambodian team provide daily classes in English, Khmer language and Computer literacy. We believe equal access to education to be an essential part of personal growth and community prosperity.
Community Projects
Since the Tanop Community Education Centre’s inception we have included the village community in all our decision making. We often invite gatherings of village residents for the sharing of suggestions and feedback. We listen, and act upon their considered ideas and work together to improve the standard of living for all villagers.
We are proud of our water and sanitation projects, and the benefits and improvement in the standard of living they have provided to the whole community.
Our Students
Our past TCEC students stand as a testament to the impact of education. Many have pursued tertiary education and have successful careers spanning a diverse array of fields, including architecture, law, medicine, accounting, dentistry, computer science and more.
Support Us
We are currently working on a way you can make a contribution to a student’s school fee to help further their education when they cannot afford to do so. Additionally you will be able to purchase from our online shop to support the education of a child, and our artisanal partners. Please check back soon.
TCEC is a small grass-roots Khmer aid organisation who receive no government funding. To continue the work we do in bringing much needed education to remote village children, we rely on donation support and purchases from our gift shop. All donations go directly to the school’s operations. There are no administration costs.
